  18. The management protocol, version 2 of the Simple Network Management
  19. Protocol (SNMPv2), provides for the exchange of messages which convey
  20. management information between the agents and the management stations.
  21. It is the purpose of this document to define managed objects which
  22. describe the behavior of a SNMPv2 entity.  This is a product of the
  23. SNMP Version 2 Working Group and the SNMP Security Working Group of
  24. the IETF.

  26. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.
  27.  
  28. This RFC specifes an IAB standards track protocol for the Internet
  29. community, and requests discussion and suggestions for improvements.
  30. Please refer to the current edition of the "IAB Official Protocol
  31. Standards" for the standardization state and status of this protocol.
  32. Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
